Silence

Then suddenly, finally a few big ideas

Some serious questions I’ve been putting off. 7 resource max from the get go. This speeds up the game to the ‘fun bit’ once players work out they can potentially activate a volcano in turn 2 with the correct moves. But can also save for an easier ‘double retaliation’ with volcanic soil planning.

Should I keep the uno tiles. Or just drop their total amount even further.

Is diversified biomes just a bonus to the player who is already almost certainly in front making the scores seem less realistic of the game that played out? Is rotating the tile under the volcano too complex - I am leaning towards yes and to turn it into a power only.

Final scores - I took an intentional gamble with Purple to see whether ending the game on purpose from a fair few points behind would be worth it - it was not

Crafty Critters unlock slots is L2-4. I only just realised that in the Screentop version it was not. Wayy too powerful/swingy otherwise.

Blue got to utilise Crafty critters twice, the others did not get to use it at all.

Another game confirming that 7 resources should be the default beginning amount. This means players are very rarely having to discard resources.

Finally a new thought for the hidden powers - the 1 of each 3 resource could be a one off power from the power grid leftovers + a bunch of extras including a simple 2pts, an extra critter move etc.

I have a bad feeling going last has a huge advantage. Also I completely played the entire game thinking Frugal Ritual was Exalted Sacrifices. It was played and scored as Exalted.

I need to play a burrowing critters game. That will be next + the Appeasement.

Archipelago - 2 x 2tile mini islands? 4 critters but only two connections. Maybe a bonus critter.

Diversified biomes

After playing through a heap of two player games I believe it is the wrong answer to a design flaw.

I hope Appeasement/Hidden Powers of 1 of each will fix this instead.
